BRING BACK THAT MOB!

Makers of Aussie film Think About It!, Richard and Wendy Friar, are announcing to an expected 1000 strong gathering this ‘International Day of Peace’ for all those who took part in the 2003 World Peace March to reunite on Sunday 14, 2010, at their rally sites across Australia to celebrate the anniversary of the march. Our Prime Minister of the day hasn’t said ‘sorry’ for calling over ONE MILLION conscientious Australians ‘a mob’ so the film makers will say it for him !

A Message from Wendy & Richard:

Join us for International Day of Peace celebrations on Sunday 20th September at Oxford Falls Peace Park 10am - 2pm for the launch of the biggest reunion the planet has ever known. Over one million Australians were among the 30 million who joined together on the 16th of February, 2003, to say ‘no’ to the invasion of Iraq. It was the greatest gathering human history and the future for real global peace building. We are announcing this reunion to all our friends in peace to revisit their rally sites on Sunday 14th February, 2010.

Australians were right on the button to appose the invasion of Iraq - it was a lie and left hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead and hundreds of thousands more men, women and children wounded for life. We have to realise that there is a ‘War on Peace’ and fighting that war ‘is the war to end all wars’! We need a voice, a big voice. We have to recognise that peace is not a political process, it’s a human process. To win the ‘War on Peace’ we have to come back out again to celebrate and stand up for our humanity.

There is a real road map to peace but it’s not the kind coming out of political peace summits. It’s the kind that brings an outpouring of humanity out onto the streets to march towards it. The kind that is propelling individual efforts around the globe to push past the’ political fairy-tale’ story of peace to get stuck into the trenches of real peace building. This is a call to arms - to reunite, to call on alliances, to even launch a new political party. Good Planets are Hard to Find - No peace. No planet. No future.

The theme for this Sunday’s event is ‘Think Peace Speak Peace’ and we will be there to launch the reunion and share a key note presentation on ‘Real Peace Building™’ as part of the days events which include a mass yoga session in the morning and a big accapela session open to all in the afternoon.

Think About It! tells us that we all have to do more for the world we want to live in. It tells us that we must all work together in new and different ways to achieve a sustainable, peaceful future. We continue to support and encourage that effort in the projects we undertake, through the media, and in the talks, presentations and workshops we give.

In the next few days this website will continue to be updated - stay tuned!

WELCOME from RICHARD & WENDY

Thank you for visiting our Think About It! movie website. The message of the film is alive and well today and we hope many people continue to find encouragement and inspiration to become even better real peace builders™ in the future.

Conflict is a normal part of learning to understand ‘differences’. It’s a natural, but very misunderstood, part of our human existence. The ‘glass ceiling of peace’ is limited only to the degree to which we think about and relate to conflict in a different way. As men and women, we each have a vital contribution to make in our communities and world and this is something that we will talk more of later.

Also, out of our experience of making the film, we know it’s essential that real peace building™ competes more effectively for attention and airtime. We need to be smarter about how peace is presented and promoted in a marketplace that is dominated by fear based media and politicking - a market that supports arms sales of over US$40 billion a year. That’s a lot of competition!

So we are taking that initiative up - to make peace ‘fashionable’ on a global scale and we are inviting support and collaboration from people who are in a position to want to take real peace building™ to a whole new level. To work with market forces and develop a route on the real road map to peace™ upon which millions - perhaps billions - can join forces to market and build peace together as part of a single global movement, working locally, around the globe.

Can real peace be built in any other way?

Think About It! Review

‘The production ‘Think About It’ is an astounding achievement in many respects. It clearly shows what can be achieved by people who feel passionately about this planet and who believe they can make a real difference for a better way forward. Wendy and Richard Friar have brought together the key issues and the most articulate spokespeople to highlight not just the ills of the world but more importantly what can be done to set matters right. ’Think About It’ is a profoundly moving piece of filmmaking that has the potential to change attitudes and values. I would recommend this work to anyone who values the longevity of this planet and the benefits of living in peace and harmony with Mankind and the environment. Surely that must include most of us’.
